The City’s purchase of the historic Lake City Family Diner represents a significant and strategic step in the city’s long-term plans to solidify its place as a thriving, year-round resort destination.

Such a mixed-use development would align well with the city’s vision for a thriving downtown that serves both residents and tourists.  Another possibility could transform the property into a boutique hotel, offering a unique, small-scale lodging option. Additionally, the site could be redeveloped into condominiums.
