As we reflect on 2024 and look forward to 2025, we want to take a moment to wish all residents of Lake City a Happy New Year! The holiday season is always a time to celebrate our community and the progress we’ve made together.

2024 was a year of growth and accomplishment for Lake City, especially in our efforts to enhance the vibrant, four-season resort destination that we all cherish. From our ongoing Park Project to the potential improvements along Canal Street, and the purchase of the family diner, we’ve made strides in creating a city that attracts visitors while still preserving our small-town charm.

Significant investments, like the Dock Project and the purchase of key properties, reflect our commitment to both beautifying Lake City and ensuring it remains a welcoming place for all. We’ve also working to diligently fine-tune our approach to short- and long-term rentals, alongside updating ordinances to keep up with the needs of both residents and tourists.

Our city’s Master Plan is a living document, one that evolves with input from the community. Each step, whether small or large, is considered with care and attention to how it will impact the lives of those who call Lake City home.

The City Council is deeply thankful for the support and confidence that you, our residents, continue to provide. Your input helps guide our decisions, ensuring that we create a safe, proud, and thriving community. As we enter the new year, we look forward to continuing this journey with all of you. Together, we will keep making Lake City the best place to live, work, and visit.
