ANNUAL SIGNUP DAY FOR SUMMER BOATING AT MILTNER MEMORIAL PARK

The City of Lake City is holding its annual signup day for boaters interested in securing boat/hoist permits for Miltner Memorial Park. The event will take place on March 3, 2025, starting at 8:00 AM at the City Building. This is a crucial opportunity for boaters to prepare for the upcoming summer season and ensure their permits are in place.  Again this year there is no fee required for using the docks and hoists in Miltner Park, although next year there may be a charge for permits.

To obtain a permit, applicants must provide three key documents: a state-issued ID (such as a driver’s license), proof of watercraft registration, and proof of both boat and dock insurance. The city also requires an additional step for those with multiple boats on their dock. Each boat must have a completed identification sheet submitted in advance, which includes proof of watercraft registration and insurance before being placed on the docks.  Individuals receiving permits for the summer will also be given the paperwork to be completed by the additional boaters using the dock.

The permits, once issued, are valid from April 1st to November 1st in the year they are granted. It’s important to note that the city retains the right to revoke permits if the holder fails to comply with the established rules, regulations, and ordinances for using Miltner Memorial Park.

This annual event ensures that all boaters have the proper documentation and follow necessary safety and insurance requirements, helping to maintain a safe and organized environment at the park. Residents planning to take advantage of this opportunity should gather their paperwork ahead of time to ensure a smooth registration process. Don’t miss this chance to secure your spot for summer boating at Miltner Memorial Park!
