- Has the ability to appoint a deputy within budgetary constraints
- City Clerk (or Deputy Clerk) shall attend all meetings of the City Council and shall keep a permanent journal of council proceedings
- Shall be the custodian of the city seal and related processes
- Shall provide ample notice to proper officials regarding terms of office, bonds, franchises, contracts or agreements
- Shall keep a copy of and record of all ordinances, resolutions, and actions of the council along with concerns with such matters as prescribed by state law
- Responsible for records, oaths, certification
Additional Responsibilities:
- Serves as general accountant for the city
- Maintains an inventory of city owned property
- Responsible for financial reports
- Inquiry audit duties; as directed
- Budget Officer
- Shall perform such other duties as the council shall direct, or which may be required by law.
